Joaquín Durán Jiménez Castro father of Eric Durán was born on December 13, 1920.  In 1994 Eric began recording many of the fascinating stories his father had of his birth place Mexico which included ancestors who were generals during the Mexican Revolution, major players of the French Intervention and posting of Maximilian as emperor.  Other true tales were about the house he was born in called "El Cristo" in Coyoacán a neighborhood now part of Mexico City.  Parts of the renowned Mexican silent  film El Automovil Griz were filmed in this home in 1918.  The house also was adjacent to the home of Frida Kahlo.  These are just a few of the many stories that will continue to be discussed on this website for historical and educational purposes.  Please note links that can take you to either Youtube videos or other sites to better serve you the visitor of this site.  La Casa de Lenguas appreciates your visit!  Gracias.  Stay tuned.
